What Is a My Cause Campaign?
There are many great causes that the Greater Greenville Parks Foundation needs your help to support. If you are passionate about one of these causes, a "My Cause" campaign is a great way to enlist the support of your friends, family, and associates to help you in your effort to support your cause of choice. The upper left side of the home page titled "Our Causes" list the different causes that can be supported through this site.
When you create a "My Cause" campaign, your friends, family, and associates can either find your personal campaign on this site or you can email them a link to your personal campaign on this site. The website will keep track of all donations given to your cause and show how each donation move you closer to your campaign goal.
Before you create your "My Cause" campaign, please note the "tips" listed below:
My Cause Name: Name your campaign something personal such as "Smith Family" or "Jill loves Spearhead." If your company is setting up a My Cause, you could also use your company's name.
Contribution Goal: Your contribution goal is not based on what you personally will give; instead, it is a goal of how much you want to raise with the help of your friends, family, and associates. Each donation they make will add to the total raised for your campaign.
Your Story: This is your opportunity to let people know what specific cause you want them to support and why this cause is important to you. Keep in mind that when people are directed to the site, there are multiple causes they can support. For example, if your cause is Camp Spearhead and Camp Courage's new home, you will want to state this in your story.
Logo or Photo Upload: Much like Facebook or My Space, your "My Cause" account gives you the option of uploading a photo for your profile. This could be a photo of your family, you, etc. Be sure to check the size of your photo prior to uploading it. If the size is too big it will not load properly. 500 x 500 or less will work best.
