Is a native of Greenville, North Carolina; however, he has made his home in
Greenville, South Carolina since 1981. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business
Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and
graduated from American Academy McAlister Institute of Mortuary Science in New
York. Mr. Adams is associated with the Watkins Garrett and Woods Mortuary Inc.
of Greenville, South Carolina.
Mr.
Adams is a Life Member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the NAACP and the Alumni
Association at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has served on many civic organizations including the United
Way, American Red Cross, Greenville Free Clinic, and Food Bank of the Piedmont, just
to name a few. He is currently Chairman-Emeritus of the Black Heritage
Bowl. Ernest worked for the Greenville County Recreation District for 10 years and currently serves as Vice Chair on their Board of Commissioners.

Ga. and Eric K. Adams of

S.C.
John (JJ) Arrowood
JJ Arrowood is a fireman at Berea Fire Department. He is an
active
member at Berea First Baptist Church . JJ is married to Cynthia Doty
and they have two daughers Mackenzie 8, and Jordyn 5. JJ also serves
on the Greenville County Recreation District Board of Commissioners.
In his spare time JJ enjoys spending time with family and riding his
bike.
Chandra Dillard
Chandra Dillard is the Director of Community Relations for
Furman University, and a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives - District 23. A graduate of
WinthropCollege, in 1999 she was the
first women elected to serve on Greenville City Council from District
three. On June 10th, 2009 Chandra became the Democratic nominee for the
District 23 seat for the South Carolina House of Representatives and is
now the elected Representative. Defeating a twelve year incumbent, she
is working to produce affordable and workforce housing, provide
innovation in education and to foster economic development through
infrastructure improvements for all
South Carolinians.
Having completed the requirements for a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from
Walden University, her degree was
awarded August 2008. Chandra is a graduate of the Richard W. Riley
Diversity Leadership Academy of Furman University 2004, Leadership
Greenville Class XXVI and Leadership SC 2007. Ms. Dillard served as
Chairman of the City’s Public Services/Administration Committee in
2000-2003 and Chairman the Quality of Life/Environment Committee
2004-2005.

Carlton Owen
Carlton Owen, a Greenville native, has for more than 30 years been
at the front of conservation innovation. Today he serves as President
and CEO of the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, a public
charity headquartered in Greenville, SC, working to promote sustainable
forestry across America. Owen holds a B.S. degree in forestry and an
M.S. in wildlife ecology from Mississippi State University.
His local outdoor / recreation passion is conserving open space and
connecting communities. For more than six years Own led the volunteer
effort to create the GHS Swamp Rabbit Tram Trail.
Cathy Ronald
Cathy Ronald is a retired Parks and Recreation
Director that relocated to the upstate from the west coast of Florida. She
is the Past President of the Pleasantburg Rotary Club, a member of the Children's
Hospital Development Council, an active member of Greater Greenville Master
Gardeners, and a volunteer with the Greenville County School System as a mentor and
Rotary reader. Cathy and her West Highland Terrior are active with the Therapy
Dogs, Inc.
Scott Wigginton
Scott Wigginton, a Bob
Jones University
graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, has served as a
commissioner with The Greenville County Recreation District for over 6 years.
He has served the last two years as Chairman of this commission.
In his professional career, Scott is CEO and President of
Greyrock Management Solutions and Love Golf Management, both headquartered in
Greenville.
Scott resides in Greenville with his wife and two daughters.

Mike Teachey
Mike Teachey is the Director
of Community Relations for the Greenville County Recreation District.
Mike has served as an organizational consultant and community development
specialist most of his career.
Mike is married with one young son and grew up in Greenville, SC. He attended high school at Christ Church Episcopal
School and graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology.
Gene Smith
Is the Executive Director for the Greenville County Recreation
District. Gene, a Clemson graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree
in
Recreation and Park Administration, brings 28 years of recreation
management to the District.
His professional career began in 1974 when he served as Parks and
Recreation Director for the City of Mauldin. Prior to his current
position he served as the District’s Director of Maintenance and
Development.
A Greenville native and avid outdoorsman, Gene is married with two grown children and a grand daughter.
